toediening corticoiden bij bacteriële meningitis
amoxicilline te associëren bij zwangeren, patiënten >50 jaar en immuungecompromitteerden

Penicilline allergie

Igv milde type 4 allergie (bv. milde rash na enkele dagen):

ceftriaxone HD IV + sulfamethoxazol/trimethoprim (co-trimoxazole) HD IV

Igv type 1 allergie (bv. anafylaxie, urticaria,...):

meropenem HD IV ± sulfamethoxazol/trimethoprim (co-trimoxazole) HD IV

Igv ernstige type 4 allergie (bv. Stevens-Johnson, TEN, DRESS,...):

overleg infectioloog of microbioloog
